About the PDF Signing Tool

Our free online PDF signing tool lets you add digital signatures to any PDF document without printing, scanning, or using expensive software. You can draw your signature using a mouse or touchscreen, or type your name in a cursive font for a professional look. Once created, your signature is placed on the document, and you can download the signed PDF immediately. All processing happens entirely in your browser, so your documents remain 100% private and never leave your device.

Electronic signatures are legally binding in most countries under laws like the ESIGN Act (US) and eIDAS (EU). While our tool provides a visual signature on the document, it creates a clear representation of your intent to sign. This is suitable for contracts, agreements, consent forms, approvals, and any document requiring your authorization. The tool is ideal for individuals and small businesses who need to sign documents occasionally without committing to a paid e-signature subscription.

The signature image is embedded directly onto the PDF page using jsPDF, creating a permanent visual signature. Your signature can be placed anywhere on any page, and you can clear and redo it as many times as needed before finalizing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a drawn signature legally binding?

Yes, in most jurisdictions, electronic signatures created by drawing or typing are legally binding when they represent your intent to sign. However, for highly regulated documents (like real estate deeds or court filings), specific e-signature platforms with audit trails may be required.

Can I sign on multiple pages?

Currently, the signature is placed on the last page of the document. For multi-page signing needs, you can sign each page individually by using the tool on single-page extracts.

Is my signature stored anywhere?

No. Your signature exists only in your browser session. Once you close the tab, all data is cleared. The signed PDF contains your signature as an embedded image, but no signature data is stored on any server.

Can I use a saved signature image file?

The tool currently supports drawing or typing your signature. For adding a pre-made signature image, consider using the PDF annotator tool which supports image overlays.
